Accident Prevention and Rescue Initiative is a Non-Governmental Organization registered and incorporated in Nigeria with registration No. as CAC/IT/21885 dated September 2006.Headquartered in Abuja, Federal Capital Territory of Nigeria, it is invloved in advocacy and publicity campaign programs towards sensitizing Nigeria Government and International Organizations to improve road safety efforts with a view to mitigating the carnage of road traffic accidents and making the roads safer for road users in Nigeria and globally. The organization has a five member Board of Trustees and ten Advisory Council Board members. Justina Umeh (Mrs.) is the Director, Women affairs and Deputy Director (Executive) of the organization. The organization is presently partnering with the Directorate of Road Traffic Services, Transport Secretariat, Federal Capital Territory, Nigeria, in the implementation of the Regulation on the prohibition of Distribution and sale of fake and sub-standard vehicle spare parts in the Federal Capital Territory. The organization is funded by members contributions and will be willing to receive donations from international and local organizations to fund its numerous proposed road traffic safety projects in Nigeria. "Road Safety is everybody's responsibility, we should support efforts to save lives of road users as most road traffic accidents are preventable and avoidable"
