Details
I have bachelors degree in Religious studies in Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, Nigeria(2004) and currently a student of law, in University of Ibadan, Nigeria. I happen to come from a family background that has been in service of the community; a monarch parents. This together with my passion to assist the weak in our community led to the vision of CEPA.
My interest in civil society organisation was also enhanced at the time of my Nigerian compulsory one-year national youth service scheme(2005). There, I had the opportunity of joining Women Trafficking and Child Labour Eradication Foundation as my community development service, a compulsory youth service programme. I further volunteered for Center for Human Right and Ethics in Development to research on human trafficking. In 2007, I became one of the recipients of CIVICUS Graca Machel Nelson Mandela annual award. This award also spurred my desire to focus more on the right of women. However, I still do freelance research work for civil society organisations on other areas of civil concern. Currently I am researching on MDG based political parties manifestoes for the Nigerian Network of NGOs. Kabissa has given me the opportunity to disseminate the awareness on abuse and I hope that even as little as the opportunity might seen that it will bear a double fold result.
