I joined the African Women’s Development and Communication Network (FEMNET)in 2006 as a Documentalist and my main tasks have been to manage the Resource Centre, which consists of information resources on diverse gender issues. FEMNET's aims to make the RC a ‘first information choice’ on information on African women. Last year, we introduced a web-based integrated library system known as WEBLIS that supports an online catalogue, thereby ensuring that users can virtually access the information resources from the website "http://www.femnet.or.ke.
Additionally, being in the Communications Programme, I coordinate the publishing of FEMNET’s reports and flagship newsletters Our Rights and FEMNET News, which are produced on bi-annual and quarterly intervals respectively, as well as the production of FEMNET’s monthly E-Bulletin sent to our members and partners highlighting key issues on women in the region and globally.
I have a keen interest in ICTs, particularly the use of the Internet and its role in empowering young women in Africa.
