Kabissa Board member. For over ten years, Neema has led and participated in global health and development issues in Africa, especially those in her country of Tanzania.

For over ten years, Neema has led and participated in global health and development issues in Africa, especially those in her country of Tanzania. Her most recent endeavor involves building and operating a model for healthcare delivery in rural parts of Africa. As a result of her civil engagement, Neema was the youngest of 1000 women from around the world in 2005 to be jointly nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. In 2007, she was one of thirteen women in Africa to receive the "Women Leading Change" award.
Neema is currently working with a global public-private partnership in Washington, DC focused on global children’s health. She previously served as the Director of Development at Ashoka: Innovation for the Public. While at Ashoka, she founded and served as the Director of a global health Fellowship program while also managing Ashoka's relationship with the Young Presidents' Organization. Her prior work experience includes working with the United Nations in New York and in Geneva, and with a variety of non-profit organizations, private foundations, health facilities, and academic institutions.
She has a Masters degree in Global Health from Loma Linda University of Health Sciences (USA) and a Bachelors degree in Medical Informatics from the University of Victoria (Canada). She previously completed studies in Health Sciences and has certificates in Humanitarian Assistance and in International Peace Studies.
Neema serves on the Kabissa board of directors.
