UNESCO Open Training Platform
The Open Training Platform is a UNESCO funded open access free online project which provides training for trainers and trainees. There is a huge range of topics - ICTs, Gender issues, languages, HIV/AIDS, media, development, adult literacy and agriculture to name a few. This site is such a brilliant resource for learners, trainers and anyone working in the non-profit sector.

Justice Group Announced Stockholm Award 2008 Finalist
The Human Rights and Justice Group International entry "Campaign Against Cyber Crime (CAC)" was selected as finalist under economic development for the Stockholm Challenge Award 2008.
The finalists have been selected from the excellent collection of ICT projects that have competed for the Stockholm Challenge 2008 six category awards and all are invited to come to Stockholm to participate in all parts of the event, show their work and meet with peers and many others who devote their time, skills and interest to ICT for development.

Telecenter forum: Rwanda
For the first time from 16th to 18th April this year, RwandaTelecentre (RTN) will bring together 70 people for 3 days to talk about Telecentres. Participants include Telecentre operators and other key players in Rwanda Telecentre movement. The forum will be hosted by Nyamata Telecentre located at 30 Kms from Kigali. RITA (Rwanda Information Technology Authority) through e-Rwanda project has committed to provide possible financial resources for the event.
East Africa Telecentre Leaders Forum
Registration fee is US$ 90 for Eastern African participants and US$ 150 for participants from other countries. Please contact the secretariat@ugabytes.org for details.
30 full board scholarships for accommodation and 15 for air tickets will be available for Eastern African participants for early registrants.
IDLELO3: InWent launches multiyear open source training program in Africa
We are beginning to see a trickle of press releases, photos and outcomes from the IDLELO 3 conference taking place this week in Dakar (program in ODT format). I was encouraged by this big training program on open source software announced by the German InWent capacity building organization. I've been seeing alot of interesting InWent activities in Africa recently including with the One Laptop Per Child program.
