World Water Day

Yesterday was world water day and all well wishers across the globe did their best with several occasions to grace the day. I will want to tackle it from my country (Ghana) for now but I will be referring to all countries at the later part of this message.

To All Visioneers

From experience, I know that there have been several times that you have left every empty, restless, tired and felt as if there was no one around you to help you carry on with your vision. You have been obedient in responding to your call in one way or the other but yet things aren’t going on the way it should go. You have used all strategies and sometime you have gone back to the ‘vision giver’ over and over but things aren’t moving. I want to let you know that such times will come to hit at you so strongly but stand firm.

FULL OF EXCUSES (a must read for all Christians)

Unless you are on the ground, you won’t know. I just watched a tv station interviewing a little girl of 5years old and these were her words; I want to go to school. I want to stop sleeping at the bus stops at night. I want to be in a home. I want to have food to eat and I need clothes. This has touched my heart so deeply that tears gathered on my eyes. If we can only put our excuses aside, we can help! If we can put our selfish attitude aside and think about our fellow humans, we can help.

The issue of child prostitution has reached an alarming proportion in recent times. More often than not, the practice involves anyone having a carnal knowledge of a female below the age of 18 years with or without her consent.

Reports in the media are awash with stories on child prostitution which indicate an upsurge in this unfortunate phenomenon. But what is even more striking is the involvement of children, some below the age of 12.

BACK COMPASSION WITH ACTION

The Bible lets us know that God is passionate and full of mercy. In Psalm 78:38, the scripture didn't just say that God has compassion, but that He is full of it. That shows us the kind of God He is; His compassion is inexhaustible.

Compassion is the quality of recognizing or pitying the suffering of another with the desire to alleviate the suffering. It's a compelling motivation to take away the pains of another. God demonstrated when, out of love, He gave His son, Jesus to die for the sins of the world.

The Upsurge of Child Abuse

One thing which is gradually gaining notoriety in our societies is the spate of child abuse. Child abuse simply means the state where a child is being denied of his/her rights and parental care and is made to fend for himself/herself.

Most people in Ghana would agree that education is the key to a better life, but many children in Tamale are not going to school despite the constitutionally-guaranteed right to a free education.

---

Check out the bus stop in the northern metropolis of Tamale, Ghana on any regular afternoon, and it will be like most others in the country; crowded, noisy and busy with children running to the vehicles and carrying luggage for money.

Today marks the 52th birthday of Ghana since Independence on the 6th of March, 1957. Several dignitaries have gathered at the independence square of Ghana this morning to celebrate and honour the heroes of our country especially Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, the founder of Ghana.

The BIG question here is that; does 52years signifies a celebration day for Ghanaians? I think its no! A BIG no because it sad and really bad. We had independence on the same year with Singapore and we can all see the big economic difference between Ghana and Singapore.

If you have a church or an organisation and you are struggling with membership of financial breakthrough for your organisation projects, hmmm! you just watch out for God in 2009.
