World Water Day 2010 - A video contribution

22nd of March, it´s world water day , an initiative that grew out of the 1992 United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED) in Rio de Janeiro. All over the world events highlighted the need to raise awareness about conflicts and health issues stemming from water scarcity.

With little resources 2aid.org ´s contribution was a video we took last week in Cologne`s inner city. It was an attempt to engage pedestrians and encourage them to think about the lack of safe water in many parts world. They were asked to carry heavy water containers which are often used by women in Africa to fetch water from far away or to drink unclean water, still a major cause for diseases worldwide.
