Last week we made an appeal to Kabissa members to help us meet an important deadline for Kabissa on Sunday, August 15. By that day we needed to have raised $4,000 from at least 50 people to secure a permanent spot on Global Giving, an initiative that lets you select the projects you want to support, make a tax-deductible contribution, and get regular progress updates - so you can see your impact.
We are writing today to follow up with the happy news that we met - and exceeded! - our goal. Despite the short notice, 71 people came through and contributed $4,860 toward covering essential costs for running the Kabissa platform. The Kabissa team is simply astounded by the response. And honored.
We look forward to using Global Giving as a key tool to strengthen our community and gather support to enable us to maintain and improve the Kabissa online platform connecting people and organizations for Africa. We will also work to extend the benefits of Global Giving to Kabissa members so that you can get support for your projects.
If you intended to donate and did not make the August 15 deadline, it is still important that you follow through. Even with no employees, it costs us $20,000 annually to maintain the Kabissa platform and we need your support.
