I love this mosquito quote from Michelle Walker, which came my way via Geophrey Tenganamba, a young Tanzanian who writes motivational books in kiswahili and english.

Geophrey is also a new addition to the Kabissa community and one of 80 people from across Africa, Europe and the United States who applied to join the latest cohort of Kabissa volunteers.

During the last two weeks I have been meeting applicants on Skype and Google Talk, and again and again have been deeply moved by the readiness of these lovely people to join our online team, at their own expense, to make a difference in their communities and across Africa.

Up next is the challenging task of choosing from among all these wonderful, committed people to fill our volunteer team. Stay tuned for news soon as we introduce our new team members!

Update on June 16: Kabissa ranked 70th on Global Giving Bonus Day Leaderboard!

Thanks to three generous donations on Bonus Day, we raised $488 towards the Kabissa core costs fund for 2012 - many thanks! According to the Bonus Day Leaderboard, we ranked 70th. We're now at $565 from 8 donors - only $19,435 to go! :)
