We’re currently looking to fill four internships that are key to helping complete Kabissa’s transition from social business providing technology services and training to a leading niche network serving African civil society.
Ideal candidates will be self-starters able to work in an entrepreneurial online organization. Interns will be expected to help build their own teams of volunteers and manage them with the assistance of the volunteer coordinator and executive director. This is a great opportunity for someone looking for an internship with real responsibility, the ability to network with over 1,500 member organizations in over 50 African countries, and the chance to reshape one of the pioneers in the African ICT space.
We are looking for four interns to develop and lead the following four teams this summer:
Network Team - Supporting and growing the people and organizations in the Kabissa network
The NETWORK TEAM is responsible for coordinating volunteers and representatives, managing members, and moderating groups.
Content Team - Editing and spreading content shared by Kabissa members
The CONTENT TEAM is responsible for managing, editing and spreading the content being shared on Kabissa by our members. Such items include: newsletter/special mailings, member content, and social networks outreach (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and beyond).
Platform Team - Maintaining and improving the Kabissa platform
The PLATFORM TEAM is responsible for all things tech at Kabissa - from maintaining our server to developing our open source platform. Tasks include: Drupal site maintenance, web projects management, web design, and domain registration management.
Organization Team - Ensuring the long-term sustainability of Kabissa as an organization
The ORGANIZATION TEAM is responsible for keeping Kabissa humming as an organization. Tasks include: marketing, fundraising, and governance.
