On behalf of the Kabissa board, I am pleased to announce the launch of the new Kabissa website devoted to CONNECTING FOR AFRICA.
Please log into http://www.kabissa.org today to explore the great new features we all can use to showcase our organisations and connect with others around Africa and the world. 10 steps to getting started on the new Kabissa website are at the bottom of this message.
On Kabissa today we can:
- Report on what's happening right now by posting blogs
- Discover who's doing what in and for Africa by using an interactive map and search functions
- Follow and support each other by using an array of online features
The new upgrade was made possible by generous grants from the Ford Foundation and Open Society Institute Information Program, and site development was carried out by FuseIQ. Thank you!
The launch of the new site accompanies an evolutionary step Kabissa is taking in response to changes in the ways Africans are using technology. We have shifted our focus from providing domain hosting and training to providing a central platform open to all wanting to connect with others who care about Africa.
Stay tuned for more news from Kabissa over the coming weeks and months. The Kabissa Gong Gong monthly member email newsletter will begin again in September, to make sure that you don't miss all the action.
We look forward to seeing you on Kabissa.org!
In solidarity,
Tobias Eigen, Founder and President

Getting started on the new Kabissa Community Website
Step 1: LOG IN
Login as usual at http://www.kabissa.org (see "login" link on top right side of homepage. If you don't know your password, try the Forgot password link to have a one-time login link sent to you which you can use to log in and update your password.)

Add groups to your organisation for public blogging and news dissemination or private working groups (as many as you need!). You can find the "Add group" link on the bottom left of your organisation profile page.
STEP 7: ADD YOUR PEOPLE TO YOUR PROFILE
Add all people that work in your organisation directly to your profile page, and optionally give them permission to update your profile and add groups and people. You can find the "Add people" link on the bottom left of your organisation profile page.
Step 8: JOIN GROUPS
Join groups created by other organisations and participate in group discussions online and by email.
Step 9: JOIN KABISSA GROUPS
Join Kabissa groups for shared exchange on Website Hosting, Meetups, ICT Training and more!
Step 10: QUESTIONS?
We are standing by to help. You can always reach us at support@kabissa.org with technical questions. Check out the Site FAQ, where many commonly asked questions are answered, and consider joining the Site Tech Support group for community support. If you have identified what you think is a bug or problem and want to report it, use the "Submit feedback" link on the dashboard menu to send us your feedback or to report problems.
