The Bai Kuke Youth Pineapple Project
A communual market-oriented pineapple farm of 10 hectares to be realised in Bai Kuke, a rural community in the South West Province of Cameroon. This project seeks to reinsert some 200 youths into active pineapple production, an activity that is expected to bring revenues to their respective households and get them permanently employed. S.A. activist gives 'voice' to HIV/AIDS awareness
Last week at the XVIII International AIDS Conference in Mexico City, the discussion came up around how to use digital tools to reach out to youth on protecting themselves against HIV/AIDS. According to a recent study conducted by UNAIDS, 45 percent of new HIV infections last year were among young people aged 15 - 24. HIV/AIDS advocacy organizations such as Taking It Global and Global Youth Coalition on HIV/AIDS showcased how online social networking has created an unprecedented opportunity to mobilize youth on prevention and treatment options. However, a young woman from South Africa showed that sometimes it only takes one person to make a difference in the lives of others.

Firefox in Lauganda
In a world where English is becoming the global lingua franca, it is increasingly important to preserve minority languages from across the world. Goolge has steadily increased it's language provision and now supports 12 African languages. Now the open source browser, Firefox has been translated into Lauganda (one of Uganda's main languages).
