The main principle behind social networking is communicating and sharing. A social network service such as Kabissa focuses on the building of online communities of people who share interests and activities, or who are interested in exploring the interests and activities of others through web based applications known as Web 2.0. Web 2.0 enable users to interact using applications such as chat, messaging email, video, VOIP, file sharing, blogging, forums and discussion groups.
Connect with Civil Society Organisations.
Through the Connect menu on the front page of the Kabissa site, you can quickly access Kabissa member organizations with shared geographic or thematic interest - and contact them. You can also read about them through their profile, events, blogs and announcements they post on the site.
Beyond Kabissa there are number ways in which you can find other civil society organisations in Africa. You could try a general search "civil society Africa" using Google Search. A number of dedicated sites such as the Africa Social Forum site (in English and French); the World Sumit on Information Society; and the Directory of African Civil Societies produced by UNDESA.
Using Kabissa's member lists you can search for colleagues in numerous ways, for example by geographical location or by organizational focus - or both. If your organisation's focus is youth then you could search for "youth" organisations under category and also under Botswana or Gabon for a specific country's list of "youth" related organsisations.
Add your picture and bio to your personal profile
You can add your personal biographical information and a picture to your profile by logging in and going into your My Account page. Once in your My Account page, click on the "edit" tab and from here you can now enter your bio and upload a photo. You must have saved a photo on your computer in order to upload one. When you have finished SAVE your changes.
Comment on content added by others
To comment on any content just click the "add new comment" tab which is located at the bottom of the content. Be sure to be logged in first, then you can be certain to receive email notificaitons when others respond to your comments.

To change any of the above, log in and go to your My Account page then the "edit" tab. Once in edit you can change all the above details and more. Remember to save any changes you make.
