Blogging with Kabissa Blogs
In this section we will explain the step by step process to blogging using Kabissa's own blogging platform.
1. Login: into your account and from the side bar menu select Blog then "Add Blog Entry"
2. Title: Choose a title for your post. Try to keep this simple but relevant to the post. Titles should not be too long and should be catchy enough to get the attention of the reader.
3. Category: You can choose one or more categories for you post. You may choose to enter your country and organisaton's area of work (theme / topic) but you do not have to. The categories are there so the readers knows what you are writing about.
4.Tags: Tags are like keywords to describe the content of your post. You can use as many tags as you like. For example a post on HIV funding for a project in Botswana for children could be categorised as "HIV" (theme ) Botswana (Country) Funding (topic). The tags for this post could be HIV, Botswana, Africa, Funding, Children, AIDS, Health. The more specific the tags or keywords, the easier it will be for readers to find your post.
5. Embedded Video: If you wish to add a video from YouTube or any other video service you need to enter the "embed code". If you wish to use one of your own videos then please first open an account with Youtube and upload your video there. Once you have done that you can then copy the "embed code" from YouTube and enter it into the box provided. You will find the "embed code" on the right hand side of your video in YouTube.
6.Flickr Image: If you wish to enhance your blog post with an image from Flickr, simply go to Flickr, select the photo you wish to embed and copy the URL of the photo into the box provided.
7. Body: This is where you write your text for your post. For help with inserting photos in your blog post watch this ScreenCast.
8. Preview and Submit! Once you have completed your entry you can preview it by clicking on the "Preview" tab. If you are satisfied then click on Submit otherwise return to the entry and make any necessary changes.
