Its Mission is "to become the recognised and leading NGO network fostering environmentally sustainable development in Africa", whilst its Goal is "to promote sustainable development by helping African countries develop and implement effective environmental management strategies, policies and plans."

Description of Activities

The Network for Environment and Sustainable Development in Africa (NESDA) is a regional non-governmental organisation, a membership organisation bringing together environmental experts, policy-makers, technical specialists, and committed NGO representatives from across the region. The purpose of NESDA is “to strengthen African individual and institutional capacities in formulating, carrying out, monitoring and evaluating strategies and programs of action aimed at promoting sustainable development on the continent”
