Mission Statement

Kabissa ("Completely" in Kiswahili) is a vibrant network of people and organisations who are working for positive change in Africa, online and on the ground.

Description of Activities

Kabissa is a dynamic network of organisations and individuals who are working for positive change in Africa. Since 1999, thousands of us across the globe have logged onto Kabissa.org to connect with other organizations, report on daily events, and form action groups.

Our goals are to:

Provide One Central Source for Action in Africa. By maintaining a technologically robust Web site, action-oriented people in Africa and around the world have one central source for finding pertinent organizations, posting timely blogs with important news, and using Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) as a revolutionary force in civil society.

Enable People to Connect Online and on the Ground. Using the elegant, comprehensive search functions on Kabissa.org, members can locate partners for civil ventures, combine forces for greater economy of scale, and create groups to achieve specific goals.

Allow Activists to Follow the Results of Their Efforts. Social networking sites such as Facebook are popular because they are self-editing, user-rated and centralized. Kabissa.org uses the same principle. For instance, it will be evident which groups and organizations are most active and most effective. Several organizations working on one initiative have one central point for their communications.

Continue to Succeed as a Sustainable, Scalable Social Enterprise.
