effort, involving all actors. Through partnerships and alliances,
we increase our chances for success”.

Submission Open: 20th Feb. – close: 31st March 2011
Overview
From the last UN General meeting organize in New York, United State of America, world leaders has fully awaken to their collective responsibilities and the pledge, commitment and support that they owe to their various country. With doubt in our heart if Africa will achieve its own part of the Millennium Development Goals come 2015 calls for active involvement and collaborative approach, as earlier stated by President Bingu wa Mutharika of Malawi:
"The Millennium Promise partnership can evolve into a platform onto which we can achieve international solidarity to meet the challenge of global financial crisis, food shortages, poverty and under-development. We must all believe that the world is one and that the problems are always lighter when they are shared." UN General Assembly September, 2009.
We believe the ‘Community’, working together with the assistance of ‘Global Partners’ can be a better platform in facilitating and fast tracking developmental activities. The MDGs can then be said to gain positive impact when this duo strategically implement and align plans, projects and policies that is transparent, accountable, effective, efficient, logical, with a time frame, clear vision and a define goals. Looking at the situation at hand, we just have four years to go from 2011, the need to strategically involve NGOs, FBOs, Government agencies, Donors, the community, Stakeholders, Civil society group to brainstorm on topical issues militating against development and the achievement of the MDGs in Africa thus become necessary.
“It is not in the United Nations that the Goals will be achieved.
They have to be achieved in each country by the joint efforts of the
Governments and people.”
Former United Nations Secretary General, Kofi Annan

Young people are a force to be reckoned with and the future belongs to them. In order to ensure that they are effective leaders for better future, youths have to be adequately equipped with knowledge to alert them of the pitfalls of the past. This is because, although the circumstances under which the new cadre of leaders operate/will operate are different, the issues that confront them are not fundamentally new to humanity, thus strategies that would help young people tackle the various issues in their diverse communities needs innovative application to these new circumstances. The Voice of the Youth Assembly (VOYA) coming up in Nov. 23-26 at Lagos, Nigeria, West Africa, is concerned in networking youth together from all works of life to interact and brainstorm on topical issues affecting youth development, in Africa and the World at large, among social entrepreneurship, leadership, ICT and Sustainable Development.
Selected youth leaders will receive abundant opportunities for learning, sharing, networking and forming lasting friendships with like minded individuals from around the Nigeria community and abroad, those who share common interest in Civil Society, Millennium Development Goal (MDG), Social Entrepreneurship, Information Technology and leadership development.
Accordingly, the Forum will place premium on nurturing and developing young people for local and global leadership while building bridges and a network of solidarity, which promote the sharing of experiences and understanding of, and provide an impetus for, the empowerment of young leaders that will enable them to play a crucial and constructive role in the development of Africa and the world at large.
