Tips on Media Temple | Kabissa Blog

Kabissa helped dozens of Kabissa members to migrate their websites to Media Temple grid-service. We've had a few inquiries about how to update FTP programs like WS_FTP to log into Media Temple instead of the Kabissa server from now on. The recipe is below.

WS_FTP is quite old and no longer available as a free download - I would recommend switching to a newer program like FileZilla.

The FTP login details will be different now that you are logging into a mediatemple account. You can get all the necessary info by going to http://ac.mediatemple.net and logging in, selecting your domain, then clicking on "Server guide". The Server guide is great because it contains all the specific info you need including all usernames and passwords.

In WS_FTP, use the following information you got from the Server guide:

Profile Name = Whatever you like
Host Name/Address = Access domain
Host Type = FTP or SFTP
User ID = Admin Username
Initial Remote Site = HTML Directory

You will also need the Admin Password.

Lines and paragraphs break automatically.
