The Board of Trustees and Advisory council Board of Accident Prevention and Rescue Initiative (APR), a Non-Governmental Organization based in Abuja FCT, has resolved to commence the publication of Safety Guide News as a medium to enhance its advocacy  in the promotion of road safety initiatives in Nigeria and globally. Safety Guide aims to report, advocate, and build bridges among road safety conscious bodies and organizations in the public and private sectors with a view to stimulate awareness, consciousness and political will of Government to tackle road traffic accidents in Nigeria and Nations.

The publication is supported by the Federal Road Safety Commisson, State/FCT Road Traffic Agencies and Private stakeholders in the Road Transport sub sector in Nigeria.

Considering the need to sustain this publication which commenced in August 2011, we are appealing  to Government of Nations, International development partners, donors and road safety conscious organizations and agencies to come to our support to sustain regular publication of the newspaper. We are committed to the Decade of action for Road Safety as initiatied by the United Nation

Accident Prevention and Rescue Initiative is grateful to the General Secretary of the United Nations Ban Ki-Moon and the Mayor of New York, Mike Bloomberg for their support to the official launching the Decade in New York.

As a Non Governmental Organization focused in Road safety, we appeal for the sustainance of the Decade towards reducing the rate of road traffic accidents, injuries and deaths in Nigeria and g;lobally.
