Recycling, rebuilding mobile phones

Tobias calls for African to take possession of African Wikipedia. This report asks whether it is possible for Africans to take possession of mobile phone technology by recycling, rebuilding and reselling mobile phones. The development of a "Dual Sim Card" is a great step for those who have to use multiple carriers due to connectivity issues.
This product has two SIM card slots in a single phone - primarily to support price sensitive/prudent consumers who wish to optimise their call costs by maintaining SIM cards from two different phone operators. As in many countries - calls to a customer using a different Ghanaian operator cost slightly more than those on the same network.
I never cease to be amazed at the innovations surrounding mobile technology in Africa and would go as far as to say that in this technology at least, Africa is becoming a leader in developing new applications and ideas for use.
