A Prize for journalists reporting on human rights and democracy

The 16th edition of the Lorenzo Natali Prize has been launched.  The Prize is a reward for journalists writing on human rights and democracy in the Global South.  

The Lorenzo Natali Prize rewards journalists working for media in one of the five following regions : Africa, Asia and Pacific, Latin America and the Caribbean, Europe and the Arab World and the Middle East. The prize concerns journalists working on the topic of the human rights or democracy in the developing world. For the first time this year, the Lorenzo Natali Prize also involves radio and television journalists.  

Each applicant can deliver ONE journalistic work or ONE extract of a journalistic work printed or aired between January 1st 2007 and June 30th 2008.

The fifteen laureates of the Lorenzo Natali Prize will be guests of honor of the European Commission during a stay in France. Each laureate will receive a trophee and a prize. Overall 50,000 euros of prize will reward the best works.
