Opportunity for organisations tackling youth employment in West Africa
We are currently
creating a database of initiatives in West Africa that are tackling
youth employment. The database already has 100 projects from Anglophone
West Africa and we are now hoping to continue expanding in
these countries as well as extend it to include Francophone and
Lusophone West Africa.
Once complete the database will serve as a valuable resource:
- It will enable YEN-WA to create synergies between organizations and find ways to connect initiatives working on complementary aspects of youth employment across West Africa.
- A section of the database will be made available to a wide range of organizations including donors who are looking to fund youth employment activities in the sub region and private sector partners who want to contribute to the work of organizations tackling youth employment as part of their corporate social responsibility efforts.
- The database will also be a first step in finding out some of the needs and challenges as well as accomplishments of organizations working to assist young people find gainful employment. This process will inform the future projects of organizations like YEN-WA that exist to support youth employment initiatives in West Africa.
