Kumi Naidoo in support of International Blog Day of Action 2012

This is an excellent short clip of one of my civil society heroes, Kumi Naidoo, Executive Director of Greenpeace International and formerly Secretary General of CIVICUS. The clip encapsulates all that I love about Blog Action Day and this year's topic of #thepowerofwe, which is taking place today, October 15, 2012.

In the clip, Kumi's assertion of "People Power" is a great way to frame what Blog Action Day is all about, as is his comment that "we are all fundamentally all equal, and all deserve an equal say in our planet's future, and the Internet is a great place in which to do that. I think it's critically important that we stand up to the few who would take away our choices and create a future that is right for us and fair to future generations."

Thank you Karina and the whole Blog Action Day team for putting this together! I look forward to exploring the content that has been created and brought together thanks to this great initiative.
