We have two new organisations joining this week from Kenya and Camerooon.  Management for Development Foundation East and Southern Africa a management training consultancy operating in Central, East and Southern Africa and Community Childrens Organisation working with disabled children in Cameroon.

We now have a growing blogging community of over 35 bloggers and thought it would be a cool idea to create a "bloggers group" to encourage members to support each other.   I have noticed a number of bloggers are not using links and entering the wrong information in the "TAGS" box.  Tags are "Keywords" that help describe the content of your blog post.    For example on this post I have used the tags: Kabissa and roundup. When using "tags" it is best to use single words separated by a commer. If you do need to use two words such as "sustainable development" then put the two words between quotation marks. You will see we have a "Tag Cloud" on the left hand side of the site which gives all the tags used on the site. The larger the font, the more that tag has been used.

Thanks for this - I'm pleased by the activity on the site in the last week and in particular the very interesting posts about ICT in various countries.

Thanks for pointing out the tags issue. I have been periodically improving tags when I see they are not as complete as they might be, but am generally happy with the tags people are using and not too concerned about it. However, everyone will ultimately benefit from good use of tags in posts since, as you say, it will be easier to find content one is interested in that is grouped together with tags.

Everyone seeking to use tags take note: each tag MUST be separated by a comma, and there is no need to put multiple word tags between quotation marks.

So for example, I would have tagged this post with: tags, Kabissa 2.0, ICT, blogging

As you enter in tags, you may notice a little blue rotating circle appear. This is the system seeking existing tags - so you could start typing "kabissa" and once you have typed "ka" it will offer you various tags that start with those letters. This is useful for ensuring that the tags you choose are the same as existing tags that others will use for accessing Kabissa content via the tag cloud or google searches.
