The meetup in Kumasi is approaching fast, and we are quite pleased with the progress we are making especially considering that this is the first we are organising using the new Kabissa platform. We selected the 11 organisations below to participate.. most come from Kumasi and environs, as well as a handful that have headquarters in Accra. I am intrigued at how many are "networks" or "clubs" or "associations" that appear to be organised specifically to bring people together around crucial issues.

It will be really interesting to connect them all up and to see what emerges in terms of new collaborations and knowledge sharing, all to be documented here on the Kabissa website and in Zack's documentary film.

Read on for the full list of participants and their organisations, and a copy of the email sent out to them.

It's not too late to participate - click here for the application form.

Here is the current participants list:

And here is the message we sent out to them:

Thank you for your interest in the Kabissa Meetup taking place in Kumasi on September 23rd. You have been selected to participate, along with 10 other Kabissa members based in Kumasi and environs who are working across a wide range of issues (see current participants list below).

The meetup is promising to be fruitful for all involved, and we are very much looking forward to learning more about all of you through this meetup, which will be reported on via the Kabissa website as well as a documentary film made by Seattle film maker Zack Tucker Gangnes. We hope that this will be the first of many meetups taking place in Ghana to connect Kabissa members with one another for the shared benefit of everyone in your communities.

We have added you to the Kabissa Meetups group, where we are planning and developing the Kabissa Meetups program in collaboration with Kabissa Members. You are encouraged to introduce yourself there and to participate. Your insights will be especially valuable since this meetup is the first we are organising using the new Kabissa platform.

You will be hearing from us soon with more details regarding meetup venue and other logistics. In the meantime, please visit the profile pages of your fellow members who will be participating via the links below. If you have not recently done so since the new site was launched this summer, please update your organisation's details to add a logo/picture and formatted information to put your work in the best possible light. You can also explore other features on the site, including the organisations map, groups and blogs, all designed to help connect you with other people and organisations for Africa.

Do not hesitate to get in touch with any questions relating to the meetup or anything else to do with Kabissa. For technical questions or feedback on the new platform, contact support@kabissa.org or join the Site Support group.

Warm regards,

Tobias Eigen
