Hello Dieter!
Thanks for joining Kabissa and participating in the Kabissa Meetups group. We are all eager to see how the meetups develop. Can you tell us more about yourself and your interests in meetups in Africa?

Hi Dorothy!
Welcome back. It's nice to hear from you again, and I'm glad you have checked in for a status update.
Don't worry - you haven't missed anything as no Kabissa meetups have taken place yet in Ibadan. We are just now setting up our systems after relaunching the Kabissa website earlier this summer, so stay tuned!
There are great tools here we can use to organise meetups throughout Africa, including this group and special mailings we can do targeting members in specific locations once local organisations have volunteered to host meetups and initial preparations have been made.
In the meantime, please update your organisation's profile at http://cepa.kabissa.org so we can learn more about you and your work, and feel free to post to this group to introduce yourself and to start reaching out with other members in Ibadan and vicinity who might want to join you for a meetup.

Hi Tobias,
I m also glad to hear from you again.I m happy that I have not missed anything, but also unhappy that it has never been started. Is the delay from kabissa management or from the appointed Ibadan cordinator?Which ever one,I think I ll start considering hosting it.However, let me check the requirements once again.I dont fancy procrastination.Anything that is worth doing is worth doing well.I will give you feedback or my application right away soon.We have a lot to gain from the union,so why not we give it a trial.

None of the four meetups we planned last summer took place, unfortunately -
and the fault was mostly with us here at Kabissa. As it turned out, we
simply did not have the capacity to coordinate the meetups and our platform
was not ready to be used as a coordinating tool.
Now it is!

Great! Please review the meetups guidelines at http://kabissa.org/groups/mission/2775 and let us know what you think may be
possible on your end. Ibadan is a great place and there are many
organisations there that have been involved with Kabissa for many years and
it would be very useful and productive to bring them together in a meetup.
We are very focussed right now on getting our meetup organised in Kumasi,
Ghana in September, and also want to use that meetup as a 'pilot test' to
optimise the procedures for organising the meetups. We very much welcome
your (and everybody's!) input.
Perhaps we could also simultaneously look at scheduling a meetup in Ibadan
for September or October.
