Formatting/styling issues on Kabissa 2.0 blog platform

Dipesh Pabari of Wildlifedirect has been blogging actively on Kabissa about animal poaching and related issues in East Africa. He sent me the following question about blogging on the Kabissa site which I think would be worth sharing with the community. I have added it to the Beta group on the site which we have been quietly experimenting with to bring together people who are interested in making the site the best it can be. Feel free to join it too!

I am aware that the tool we use for adding content needs improvement - along with many other aspects of the site - so appreciate member participation and feedback.

I just put a new post but for some reason the text is not coming our aligned. One word appears on one line followed by the rest of the sentence. I have tried to go in and edit but it does not appear. Would you mind going in and aligning it.

Thanks and the site is getting better and better all the time!

Thanks for asking, Dipesh!

The issue you are running into with your blog post is that you pasted it in from another website which had different formatting and HTML codes in it. This can lead to unpredictable results on our site which uses html stylesheets to define formatting. To be sure of the formatting, the best thing is to paste it in without formatting (eg copy from the other site, paste it into Notepad or other plain text editor, then copy and paste frm notepad into your blog post on Kabissa). If you know some HTML you can also click the "disable richtext editor" link while editing the post and paste in directly from the other website and then add the paragraph breaks using HTML codes - then when the basic content is ready you can click on "enable richtext editor" to add more styling as desired.

I will also add this correspondence as a blog post in the beta group on the site - and recommend you join it so you can be informed of progress on the site and participate in knowledge sharing about the site with us.

Cheers,

Tobias
