The much awaited world’s possible biggest gathering of professionals from the African continent and other parts of the globe is here with us at last.

The gathering promises to promote a great network and rich generator of what is known as “social capital”- that is; the more that every stakeholder puts in, the more everyone gets out.

The programme seeks to create a common platform for Africa’s professionals, intellectuals and scholars, and other eminent persons and corporate entities globally with diverse backgrounds to meet one-on-one and mutually share ideas and accomplishments; and deliberate on issues in relation to addressing the political, economic, socio-cultural, and technological barriers hindering the development of effective, efficient and sustainable professionalism on the continent.

The Congress of African Professionals is organized by African Network of Professionals (ANoP) – www.africannpro.net – as the membership arm of African Biographical Centre – www.africanbiographicalcentre.com.

The 1st ever Congress of African Professionals is to be held at the International Conference Centre, Accra; Ghana in Western Africa from the 11th to the 13th of November, 2009 and shall be preceded by a Pre-Congress Workshop on the 10th of November, 2009.

The Congress theme is "Professionalism in Africa: Problems and Prospects" with sub-themes as 'Continuing Professional Development in Africa' and Intellectual Property Management for African Professionals'.

The general objective of the programme is to achieve sustainable and equitable development in Africa by developing professionally and building a vibrant, prosperous, united, and stronger Africa; with a specific objective of creating an enabling and conducive environment which is endowed with requisite resources (both human capital and infrastructures) and capable of optimizing its political, economy, socio-cultural and technological strengths and opportunities for the territory’s growth and development.

The event which has many tracks to accommodate almost every profession shall be highly interactive and include; working and leadership learning groups’ sessions, with one-on-one meetings with African and other leading business and civil society organizations leaders across the globe; plenary debates; International Exhibition; and a host of corporate networking opportunities.
