Nigeria is progressing in the quest for credible democracy. The determination of President Goodluck Jonathan to ensure credible elections come 2011 cannot be undermined. Politicians accorss the country are warming up to contest in all electoral positions. The voters whose vote will determine who should be elected into various political offices are equally eager to get registered to be eligibile to cast their votes for their candidates.
The successful conduct of 2011 elections will determine the sustainability of Nigeria's democracy which commenced since 1999.
Politicians have positioned themselves to participate and contest the 2011 elections while the voters are congregating to support their candidates at all level of political office.
President Goodluck Jonathan has confirmed his sincerity to ensure credible elections by his approval to all the financial requirements of INEC and has equally extended political support to Nigerians to come out enmass to vote for their preferred candidates.
It is on this platform that Accident Prevention and Rescue Initiative (NGO) is calling on all Non-governmental Organizations, Civil Societies and faith based organizations in Nigeria to meet and take a position towards positive and active participation in the 2011 elections towards achieving credible and successful elections as a means of actualizing our social obligations to the society.
This is the time for NGOs, CSOs and FBOs to collectively engage in the quest for good govenance towards the sustainance of democracy in Nigeria.
