Dear Colleagues,
We wish to inform you that the Global Human Rights Leadership Training Institute (GHRLTI) is still accepting applications for the 2011 Edition of its Online Advance Certificate Course: Gender and HIV/AIDS, 9th November – 9th December 2011.
Please help circulate this announcement.
Course Description
The course will examine the inter-linkages between gender and HIV/AIDS, explore strategies to mainstreaming gender and HIV/AIDS at policy, programmes and implementation processes. However, there is limited gender conceptual clarity and application skills among key decision makers, practitioners, civil societies and private institutions and the inter-relationship with HIV/AIDS, policy and macro economic issues. These limitations hamper efforts geared towards making gender and HIV/AIDS cross-cutting issues in development policies, programmes and processes. In view of the above, the course on Gender and HIV/AIDS is based on the understanding that: - Gender and sexuality are significant factors in the sexual transmission of HIV and they also influence treatment, care and support. The prevention and management of the spread of HIV/AIDS is inextricably linked to achieving gender equality and women empowerment.
