Kabissa's annual 2004 member survey revealed that one of the most requested improvements members desired was more training and workshop opportunities. In response to this request, we initiated a research project to investigate e-learning options for our Time to Get Online training program.
Research was conducted in three modes: a review of recent e-learning literature, interviews with e-learning professionals, and a survey of Kabissa members' desires and perceptions regarding e-learning.

- Kabissa members are excited and eager to participate in e-learning courses
- Most respondents prefer a 2-3 week course complete with expert information, peer collaboration, and applicable skills.
- They also prefer evening or weekend courses as they would be doing the course work outside of their jobs.
- Not all learning is appropriate for an online setting, but when an online setting is appropriate, participant incentives are key to keeping students engaged.
